 MIRABELLA REAL GAME FARM is owned and operated by Tiny A. Meneses. Located at the foothills of Mt. Makiling in Sto. Tomas, Batangas, Philippines. Tiny maintains a limited number of gamefowl intended for seed stock of beginning cockers in search of solid bloodlines at reasonable prices. Brood fowl had been shared with new, upcoming, backyard and small volume cocker-breeders who heretofore would not have been able to afford imported seed stock. Cockfighting is the Philippines' national sport with over 1,000 cockpits in the country. Almost every town has a church, municipal hall, a school and of course, a cockpit. Theoretically, cockfighting is egalitarian. Rich and poor meet and fight on equal ground. However, the truth of the matter is only the rich can afford to import or purchase top class fowl, maintain the infrastructure of a farm, veterinarians, good feeds and supplements and consequently, win the big derbies in key cities of the country. It is therefore the dream of Mirabella Real to share good bloodlines with the new and upcoming cockers to at least even up the playing field where bloodlines are concerned. Mirabella Real now has 200 teepees and 150 fly pens plus about 50 more roosts under the trees of Rambutan, Santol, Mango and other fruit trees. Mirabella only breeds a limited number each year. Often criticized as a "purist" who breeds trios "pure as received", good win percentage had been achieved in fights at Roligon Mega Cockpit in the Philippines. Excellent brood fowl are personally selected from gamefarms in the USA every year to maintain the competitive edge of Mirabella's brood material. |
